“Accept no one’s definition of your life;

define yourself.”

-Harvey Fierstein

We inevitably face adversity. We will encounter people and challenges that will make us question our strengths, exaggerate our weaknesses, and doubt our own self-worth. But we can’t allow these factors to define us. You must be the one to define yourself.

Define yourself with Alpha Phi Omega

Grow with us and discover your best potential. We strive to continually grow in leadership, friendship, and service. In leadership, we encourage our members to take initiative, organize events, and speak out their opinions. In friendship, we foster lifelong relationships and loyal brotherhood. In service, our most valued cardinal principle, we encourage empathy and understanding as we work to improve the community.

Who are we?

Alpha Phi Omega is a national coeducational service organization founded on the principles of Leadership, Friendship and Service. It provides its members the opportunity to develop leadership skills as they volunteer on their campus, in their community, to the nation, and to the organization. We have chapters in four countries including the United States, Canada, Australia, and the Philippines. With more than 400,000 members on over 375 campuses in the US, Alpha Phi Omega continues to provide more service on more campuses than any other collegiate service organization. We are an inclusive group, open to all nationalities, backgrounds and genders, and we welcome you to become part of our amazing organization so that together, we can pursue a common goal – leading through service to others.

What kind of services do we do?

  • Feeding the homeless (Skid Row Service, HANDS ON International, Long Beach Rescue Mission, etc.)
  • Mental health awareness and advocacy (Suicide Prevention Training)
  • Children’s Education (Promise Tours, AVID, Reading to Kids, etc.)
  • Accompanying the elderly (Home Avenue, Wheels for Deals)
  • Marathons (AIDS Walk, NAMI Walk, Autism Awareness)
  • And so many more services that we either host or collaborate with other organizations with.
